Monsterama was...
…an incredible experience! I’ve attended quite a few conventions, festivals, pop-ups, and so on, but THIS event stood out. It’s clearly organized by fans of classic monster and pop culture for fellow fans. Not to get cheesy on you, but the passion is palpable.
Where else can you meet this many stars of cult and camp classics in a single room? Or have a random 20-minute conversation on The Monkees and their impact on music as we know it? Or facilitate a panel on Southern Gothic storytelling where everyone spills their darkest family secrets for fun?
In all seriousness, I met so many inspiring, creative people (authors, actors, even a ventriloquist) I could write an essay on everything this experience meant to me. For now, I’ll leave you with a photo of me with Diane Baker, star of Strait-Jacket (one of my all-time favorite movies for several reasons), who couldn’t have been more gracious.
Where can you find me next?
